We pride ourselves on celebrating the achievements of our team, so we had to shine a light on our very own Lisa-Marie Baker, who has recently qualified as a solicitor in our Wills and Probate department in Torpoint!
After studying hard to complete her undergraduate degree at the University of Bangor, she later secured her Masters at the University of Law in London, going on to work in numerous corporate firms before finding herself working in Exeter as a Fee-Earning Paralegal, specialising in Wills and Probate.
Having grown up in a small village and relinquishing her dream of becoming a midwife after finding out she wasn’t the best with blood, Lisa-Marie was drawn to law after a recommendation from her friend, going on to study the subject in her A-Levels.
How did she find herself at CWC, we hear you ask? Being a firm that was close to her village, Lisa-Marie had heard of our outstanding reputation, friendly approach and desire to nurture the future generation. She felt more suited to our high-street-style firm compared to the larger, more corporate settings and she liked the personable, human touch we have with each other and our clients.
Being a highly valued member of our wills, trusts and probate team, Lisa-Marie now acts as a solicitor in this field and provides a personal and knowledgeable experience to her clients in our Torpoint office, approaching their cases with empathy, compassion and the utmost care.
Looking to the future, Lisa-Marie is eager to progress her knowledge of wills and probate as a newly qualified solicitor and hopes to complete her STEP qualifications after a well-earned break from studying. Besides wills and probate, there are other areas of law that pique her interest, including the administration of complex estates regarding business property and agriculture, as well as deputyship applications.
